Vigil at Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre Monday 9th May 2016
There will be an impromptu vigil outside Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre,108 Stamford Street, Waterloo, SE1 9NH on Monday 9th May from 4.30pm to-6pm. Please come along and show your support in opposing the private Garden Bridge development built upon public land.
Coin Street Community Builders (CSCB) are the leaseholders of the land who have it in their power to stop this from happening by refusing to accept freeholder Lambeth council’s lease variation. CSCB have always maintained that they would act upon the wishes of elected representatives, but as the majority of the Greater London Assembly don’t want it – nor does local MP Kate Hoey, all three Bishop’s Ward councillors, all three Cathedral’s Ward councillors (Southwark), several Lambeth councillors, cross party representatives from the House of Lords and the Commons, the leader of the Green Party and even Jeremy Corbyn, all oppose it, then we need to make the Coin Street board listen to them AND to the constituents that elected them.
So please do join us: together we can stop the Garden Bridge.
N.B. The trees in this picture will be destroyed if CSCB permit the Garden Bridge Trust to take over our public right of way
